What we collect during a session

While a voice session is active, the bot temporarily processes:

• Speaking duration and conversation turn count
• Voice state changes (mute, deafen, camera, stream, join, leave)
• Soundboard and voice reaction usage
• Voice audio, only if recording is enabled and you have not opted out

What we store permanently

• Per-server settings (auto-start, recording preferences, manager role, clips settings). No user data.
• Global opt-out list containing only the Discord user IDs of users who have chosen to opt out via /voiceparty.
• Clips (if enabled) are stored in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage until manually deleted. Clip metadata includes the creator's user ID and the user IDs of anyone speaking in the clip.

No analytics or telemetry. Discord OAuth is used only to verify download access, and Cloudflare R2 is used for clips and temporary large recording downloads.

What happens when a session ends

All session data (stats, audio files, event logs) is deleted from the server immediately after results are posted to the channel, except large recording downloads as described below.

If recording was active, small mixed audio files and optional event logs are delivered as Discord message attachments. Large recordings are uploaded to private Cloudflare R2 storage and shared through a Discord-OAuth-gated download link for up to 24 hours. Only Discord users whose audio was included in the recording can open the download. Once the download expires, the bot deletes the R2 objects.

If Discord delivery fails, the bot may keep a local recovery copy of the mixed recording and event log on the host machine for up to 24 hours so the operator can recover the file. Recovery copies are deleted automatically and are not uploaded to third-party storage.

Clips are an exception: they persist in Cloudflare R2 storage until manually deleted by the clip creator, a speaker in the clip, or a server admin.

Opting out

You have several options:

• /ignore-me lets you opt out of recording, stats, or both for the current session.
• /voiceparty lets you globally opt out across all servers. Only your Discord user ID is stored to remember this choice.

If you opt out of recording, any audio already captured from you is deleted immediately.

Removing the bot

If Voice Party is removed from your server, all clips and server settings are scheduled for deletion. After 7 days, everything is permanently removed. If the bot is re-added within that window, your data is preserved.

Data location

Session data is processed on the machine hosting the bot. Clips and large temporary recording downloads are stored in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage. No other data is sent to external servers or third parties.
